London, April 6 (Prensa Latina) The British Navy suspended its maneuvers
Friday in the Persian Gulf, where Iranian authorities captured 15 soldiers
of the European country for entering their territorial waters.
The chief of the Royal Navy, Adm. Jonathon Band, considered it necessary
to suspend the drills for the moment, and called for reviewing British
patrol regulations.
Band told the BBC that the behavior of the eight sailors and seven
soldiers, including a woman, was correct in those difficult circumstances.
Members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard captured the British military
in the estuary of Shatt el Arab River on March 23, after checking a
boat in that area.
